Life cycle sustainability assessment framework for water sector resource recovery solutions: Strengths and weaknesses

چکیده
Resource recovery solutions are an essential part of a sustainable water sector. Sustainability these needs to be analysed assess, compare and optimize them. Life Cycle Assessment (LCSA) is the most commonly used framework for sustainability assessment. This review paper discusses three critical characteristics sector resource solutions: (i) their potential actively benefit natural processes through reciprocal services, (ii) dependence upon resources processes, (iii) goal avoid transgression environmental thresholds. We analyse in context following features LCSA: it being damage assessment-based framework, its treatment economic capital as substitutable absence thresholds past emissions assessment methodology. use real-life case study from Netherlands evaluate demonstrate mentioned existing LCSA framework. Our indicates that, can modified application if includes reciprocity towards nature component, limits compensations between welfare damage, incorporates emissions.

Life Cycle Assessment Prognosis for Sustainability
Today, along with the increasing environmental awareness in the politic, public and industries, the demand on environmentally friendly products and technologies has been increasing. Therefore within the research and development of a product or technology in industries as well as in national or international funded R&D activities the method of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is often implemented in ...
متن کاملCBR: Strengths and Weaknesses
There is considerable enthusiasm about Case-Based Reasoning as a means of developing knowledge-based systems. There are two broad reasons for this enthusiasm. First, it is evident that much of human expert competence is experience based and it makes sense to adopt a reuse-based methodology for developing knowledge based systems. The other reason is the expectation that using Case-Based Reasonin...
متن کاملA Life-cycle Approach to Improve the Sustainability of Rural Water Systems in Resource-Limited Countries
A WHO and UNICEF joint report states that in 2008, 884 million people lacked access to potable drinking water. A life-cycle approach to develop potable water systems may improve the sustainability for such systems, however, a review of the literature shows that such an approach has primarily been used for urban systems located in resourced countries. Although urbanization is increasing globally...
متن کاملComparing Strengths and Weaknesses of Learning Theories
Introduction: Medical education is changing. Therefore, teachers need to evaluate their performance and try to maximize learning. Learning theories can provide insight in this important issue. This study aimed to review the strengths and weaknesses of learning theories including behavioral, cognitive and humanistic theories. Methods: In this study, some literatures related to learning theories...

This paper proposes a heterogeneous multi-core architecture where all of the cores share a single Instruction Set Architecture (ISA). The design is characterized by each of the heterogeneous cores representing a different point in the power/performance design space. They demonstrate, through modeling, that this is an effective mechanism to reduce power dissipation by means of dynamically switch...
